Pretty Woman        (2009)
15    USA    1hr 59min    Comedy/Romance    IMDb rating 6.9/10
Director – Garry Marshall
Cast – Richard Gere, Julia Roberts

Pretty Woman was the film that made Julia Roberts a star with a Golden Globe win and an Oscar nomination.
She plays a prostitute who’s “employed” by a rich playboy businessman (Richard Gere) to play his girlfriend for the week. This is a modern “Cinderella” type film with dubious messages about “working girls” totally unbelievable but saying that it’s the best film directed by Gary Marshall  (creator and writer of  TV “Happy Days”) most entertaining and grossed over $500 million worldwide. Good 80’s soundtrack.

As I write this I’ve just heard the news that Gary Marshall has just died at 82years old.

This charity provides medical care and supplies to carry out obstetric fistula surgery for women in Uganda who have become incontinent through injury during childbirth due to lack of obstetric care.
