Wild Rose (Buckley) is Rose-Lynn a Glasgow girl whose passion is to get out of Glasgow and become a country singer in Nashville. There are obstacles facing her as she is just out of prison, has no job and has two children. Buckley is a star turn (and sings her own songs) but she is ably supported by Walters (as Rose’s mum who is on Rose’s case) and Okonedo (who plays her unlikely champion). Not a musical but an amusing, poignant drama with a good sound track. A Feel Good Romp of a Film.
