Based on the true story of Freddie Mercury and Queen from their formation until Live Aid in 1985.
The film chronicles Mercury’s (Malek) journey from Heathrow baggage handler to world famous artist. The problems he encountered along the way do not always make easy watching but it is an interesting journey accompanied by great music throughout culminating in the fantastic high of the Live Aid concert.
The recreation of the Live Aid Concert involved use of Boringdon Airfield in Hemel Hempstead and some magic by a special effects team to conjure up a 72,000 audience.
